Diamondawgs individual hitting sessions are customized to meet your personal needs. After the initial session and assessment, your instructor will develop a unique game plan based on your current skills and future goals.
Our first session with a hitter is typically scheduled for 60 minutes. This allows our Instructor to review past success, gain an understanding of what swing adjustments have been implemented, and do a deeper dive into overall goals for the coming sessions.
The focus of these sessions is obviously on developing arm strength, but instructors will also work to develop arm health and improve the arm action. Each session will consistent of a warm up and:
-drill work to improve the arm action
-long toss to increase arm strength
-use of weighted balls
-a series of arm strengthening exercises for performance and injury prevention
Players will be challenged with movement drills to incorporate their footwork into their throwing mechanics.

Infielders and outfielders will have the opportunity to improve the fundamental skills of glove work, fielding footwork, and throwing action. Efficient defensive techniques will be covered in depth as players improve their footwork, throwing ability, and fielding ability. There will also be a heavy emphasis on improving range and increasing footspeed.
Pitching sessions will first focus on developing a consistent arm action and increasing arm strength. Our instructors will then shift the focus to:
-Refining the delivery & mechanics
-Drill work to improve athleticism on the mound
-Increased power production
-Expansion and development of pitch repertoire
Pitchers will use a mix of flatgrounds and mound work as they progressively increase their work load (pitch count).

Small Group Sessions

Hitters can sign up for one session at a time to fit their schedule. Each session will be tailored to Little League players in the "Canadian" division. During the season we will focus mostly on adjustments that will not take away from their game at-bats. Bat speed, swing decisions, hitting faster or slower pitching, and basic mechanical adjustments will be the most common areas of focus. Coaches will be able to implement drills on an individual basis based on how their season is progressing.
